day or night without ruining your outfit.  We did just that as we decided to enjoy the last

few days of Summer on the beach in dresses and heels for our ‘Summer Sand’ photoshoot.”

Online General Styling Advice: Heeltote.com on How to Take Stylish Photos in the Sand

Take a stand.  Cover the surface of the sand to make it easier to sit or stand on.

Slow shivering.  After dipping in the water the evening breeze on the beach can give you chills.  We like the blanket coat trend made hot this Summer.

Change looks.  On the beach you can be among the many who wrap material around themselves for privacy when changing looks. 

Follow a theme.  Silk flows like water and the moving sky and was central to our horizon theme.  We used silk for all three looks.  We thought of treasure at sea and did not spend a ton on the jewel collared light blue silk dress which felt like a second skin.  We started out in that for Look 1 Sky to get a feel for the environment.  Next we moved into Look 2 Water a navy blue silk dress with an iridescent mermaid scale decoration, as we continued to focus on the evening ocean.  We paired the navy dress with a glittered sand hued shoe.  For Look 3 Sand we thought of metal detector sand combers.  For the third look at dusk the dress was decorated with clusters of light and dark like day and night sand colored fabric resembling seaweed with metal chains draping on the dress.

Apply sunscreen.  Make sure to apply plenty of sunscreen to protect your skin from UV rays.

Bring extra shoes.  When trying to keep your shoes in good condition standing on a metro subway grate in heels is tough but standing on wet or dry sand is virtually impossible.

Remember underwear.  Sometimes we can't wait to get to the beach, but traveling in a cold wet swimsuit is an unforgettable feeling so why not just remember to bring underwear.
